I am in the 11th grad right now, and when I graduate I plan on going into Business, I want to try to get into either the Anderson School of UCLA, or Stanford school of Business, I would like to attend Harvard Business school, but I know you have to be pretty much perfect to get into there, but anyway, I need some advice (preferably from people who know what they are talking about lol) about what would be the best way for me to get into a school, like are there any entrepreneur ships available that I should do before I graduate that would make me more likely to get accepted into a good college or just anything. I don't plan to go into business for just anything, I want to become a Top Executive/CEO of something in fashion, I want to be one of the next big things. So any help I would greatly appreciate.Advice for a future business woman.?
Yeah Anderson and Stanford Grad Business are MBA programs and you should worry about that after you finish your 4 year degree.
First you need to figure out what you want as a BA/BS you dont necessarily need a BS in Business to get into a MBA program but it helps. After you complete your BS then you worry about getting in grad school and the MBA program.
The most important thing for getting into a good MBA program is your GPA in college. Without atleast a 3.0 you wont even be considered. Then you also have to take your GMAT and score pretty high (most top schools have people score in the 650+ range) Also i have heard that you should get some work experience first before entering going for your MBA. Yes getting a internship at a good company will help.
Also i doubt you will become a CEO since most CEO are either the founder or cofounders or CEOs from other companies or people who have been with the company since the start.Advice for a future business woman.?
You are talking about graduate business schools, first you need to get an undergrad degree and to be a execuative you need a combination of an underbgrad, a masters, at least, extreme compitence, proven skill, and basically a lot of luck. It's not easy.
If you want to be a top executive, then an MBA will take you far. You're thinking on the right track.
Business school is not only about GPA and GMAT score, although you need stellar numbers to get into the top 10 schools. I would say the most important thing is work experience. Do the best you can in school and get a good GMAT score. After you graduate, it's crucial that you get a good job that gives you lots of opportunity for growth, and that will give you a chance to take on leadership roles. Already having experience as a business leader is crucial in your path toward acceptance at a top school. Typically, students in the top programs have 4-6 years of SUCCESSFUL work experience and have already climbed into managerial positions before they enter bus. school.
But since you are only in the 11th grade, work experience is still too far away from you. What you need to do is get into the best undergrad institution you can (it's important to the top schools) and get the best grades you can. I
'm not sure why you want to go to a two year institution...in addition to a 4 year undergraduate university. It seems like those first two years would be completely unnecessary, a waste of time and money, and wouldn't add a thing to your MBA application.
