Any Advice for a young City Chairman!!(Black,Woman,30yrs old,Republican)History Making?

I love your question. I always have believed that an elected official should make decisions using their own judgement and not what they thnk the majority of their constituents would vote for. If that were the case, we would not have elected officials and everything would be up for referendum. Believe that your constituents voted for you to make the best decisions for them: they trusted you and bought in to your judgement during your campaign. Now the tricky part: explain yourself and your decisions as clearly as you can. If some don't buy your answer, move on, don't sulk, and know you did the best you could.

And most importantly, don't be afraid to be bold! Many politicians have maintained the status quo; that doesn't mean you have to (if you're a black woman Republican, you've already shown you make your own decisions). Think. React. Progress. Make a difference.

Good luck! Keep us posted if possible.Any Advice for a young City Chairman!!(Black,Woman,30yrs old,Republican)History Making?

Yes: PRAY WITH OUT CEASING. God will guide you.... what city? I wish you well, God bless!
watch out. The democrats are still the party of the KKK, and they will use rhetoric against you to punish you for thinking for yourself.
Change parties, the Republican have an ';Old Boy'; mantra. They only support those like themselves. Run as an Independent, perhaps.
Become a democrat! Not a toughie
Take the *******';s advice and look out for the Klan. Sh!t. What idiots you all are.
Congratulations! Be honest, enjoy the ride, stand up for the people you serve!
