Will I have to know how to swim in the army? Also, advice for a 16 year old woman wanting to join the army?

Knowing how to swim is not a requirement for the Army although it does help. I remember one time I almost drowned during a training exercise where we were using our trousers as life preservers.

As for a 16 year old wanting to join the Army, I definitely recommend talking it over with mom and/or dad to get their opinion. Because at 17, you legally cannot sign a military contract anyway without parental consent. If they object, explain to them your reasoning and your plans in life. If they still say no, then just wait until you're 18. At that time if you still want to join, you can sign the contract yourself without parental consent. Will I have to know how to swim in the army? i spent 20 years in the Army and never had to swim. That's not to say that it would be a good idea to know how to. I'm from Florida and i learned to swim when i was 8 or 9 years old. If you want to enlist or join the service, i recommend you get some college and go in as an officer. You have more responsibilities, but you make more money. Best of luck to you. Will I have to know how to swim in the army? Also, advice for a 16 year old woman wanting to join the army?
You should know how to swim anyway, the military is not for everyone but a good education is, go/stay in school for now, there is plenty of time to make that decision later, have fun and enjoy being 16.
Don't do anything until you have finished high school and college or a good trade school.
