I am pregnant and like a lot of pregnant women I am having a LOT of trouble with my hair breaking/spliting and just simply falling out by the handfuls. It is growing so fast ( I believe about 10 inches in 4 months ) and I kinda feel like that is part of the problem. I do take all my vitamins and I eat healthy and I shampoo and condition every day. Is there something I can do to stop my hair from falling out or am I just gonna have to ride it out. It is so ebarrassing when you are standing in a crowd of people and the wind blows and a big chunk of your hair flies all over everybody. Thanks.Hair care advice for a pregnant woman?
I would probably cut a few inches off . LOL I'm laughing because I can in vision hair flying all over the place . The joys of pregnancy - I have very thick hair and have been losing some here and there too . The shampoo I've been using is Redkens All Soft and conditioner which has helped my hair :) Hair care advice for a pregnant woman?
I cut my hair in a short bob %26amp; I love it!
hmmmm maybe you can try doing a hot oil treatment a few times a week...and maybe your vitamins are the problem or all of the extra hormones, i would speak with the doctor.
I think pregnancy affects people differently, so there is not really a ';standard'; for anything. I find that my hair got stronger into my last trimester (which is where I am now). The first trimester, however, was a different story. I was losing a lot of hair.
There is nothing you can really do to stop your hair from falling out, but maybe you should stop shampooing every day! That can dry your scalp, which can contribute to your hair falling and breaking. Other than that, just ride it out...and remember, it's ALL worth it once you look into tiny, innocent eyes!
Good Luck, and Congrats!
HAHAHAHA! I laugh because I've been there - three times. I know exactly what you mean about chunks of hair coming out! And from my experience, I'd say you are just going to have to get used to it. :) LOL! I had so much hair fall out - washing it was a nightmare because I'd have handfuls of hair. Actually, this didn't happen until about 3 - 4 months after my babies were each born. Then it happened again after I stopped nursing. Hormones do terrible things to your hair! My suggestion is to cut it short so it's easier to deal with (if you have really long hair and do decide to cut it, consider donating it to Locks of Love... just an idea). Your hair will all grow back in so don't worry too much; it's just part of it all.
Anyway, good luck with the rest of your pregnancy! Hope you have a quick labor and a healthy baby! :)
